Most people believe that the best fighter of Mahabharat era
was either Arjuna or Karna.But Lord Krishna rated Barbareek ,the best fighter
and placed him at a higher status than both Karna and Arjuna
Barbareek as you might know was the grandson of Bheema and
Hidimba.Hidimba belonged to Rakshasa kul .She performed intense tapasya ,so
she is even today worshipped as phool Devi in Himachal Pradesh.
Kullu royal dynasty considered Hidimba as their ancestor
Barbarika proved to Krishna upon his request that he can
finish Mahabharat war all alone in just one minute using just three arrows.Then
Krishna asked him to cut his head and give it to him.In return Barbareek asked
boon that he would be worshipped like a god,so in Rajasthan's khatushyam mandir
he is worshipped along with Krishna himself today.
